Method A: Using a Survey Rover
Beforeyoubegin,ensurethatallequipmentandmeasurementsareusingthe
sameunitsofmeasure(i.e.Meters,SurveyFeet,etc.).Usingthediagramon
therightasareference,recordmeasurementsforthebucketcurledin(A),
extended(B),thedistancebetweenthetwoantennas(C),andthedifference
betweencurledinandextended(D).
MeasurewithBucketCurledin:
1. Positionthemachineonaflatandstablesurface.
2. Using3DMCasareference(inalocalizedproject),taptheElevation
ControlKey,theleftGPSinfo...button,andthentapthePosition
tab.
3. PositionthemachinedirectlyNorth(bothedgesofthebucketwill
havethesameNorthingvalue)(Figure72onpage52).
4. Retracttheelementsandthebucketsothatitiscurledinnearthe
machineandontheground.Markthiscurledinpositiononthe
ground.
5. RecordtheNorthingvalueofonecornerofthebucketusingasurvey
rover(Arover).
6. RecordtheNorthingvalueofthesamecornerwith3DMC(A3DMC).

MeasurewithBucketExtended:
1. Fullyextendtheelementsandbucketawayfromthemachinesothatthebucketisonthe
ground.Markthisextendedpositionontheground.
2. RecordtheNorthingvalueofthesamecornerofthebucketusingasurveyrover(Brover).
3. RecordtheNorthingvalueofthesamecornerwith3DMC(B3DMC).
4. Calculatethedifferenceasfollows:B=Brover‐B3DMC
MeasureDistancesandCalculateAdjustments:
1. MeasurethedistancebetweentheMainAntennaandtheAuxAntenna(C).
2. Usemeasuringtapetomeasurethetotaldistancebetweenthecurledin(A)andextended(B)
lengths(D).
3. CalculatetheadjustmentneededfortheAuxAntennatoBoomlengthusingthefollowing
equation:Adjustment=[C*(A‐B)/D](seeTable6onpage57).
4. RepeatallstepsofMethodAtoverifythecorrection.
