Method B: Without Using a Survey Rover
Beforeyoubegin,ensurethatallequipmentandmeasurementsareusingthe
sameunitsofmeasure(i.e.Meters,SurveyFeet,etc.).
MeasurewithBucketCurledin:
1. Positionthemachineonaflatsurface,andplaceahubinaflatopen
area.
2. Using3DMCasareference(inalocalizedproject),taptheElevation
ControlKey,theleftGPSinfo...button,andthentapthePositiontab.
3. Positionthemachinedirectlynorth.Bothbucketedgeswillhavethe
sameNorthingvalue(Figure72onpage52).
4. Retracttheelementsandbucketsothatitiscurledinnearthe
machine,andplaceabucketcorneronthehub.
5. From3DMC,recordtheEastingvalueofthebucketcorneryouchosein
step4(e.g.EastingCURL=10425.67).
MeasurewithBucketExtended:
1. Fullyextendtheelementsandbucketawayfromthemachine,
repositionthemachinedirectlynorth,andplacethebucketonthehub.
2. From3DMC,recordtheEastingvalueofthepreviouslychosenbucket
corner(e.g.EastingEXT=10425.55).
3. CalculatethedifferenceinEastingvalues(e.g.EastingDIFF=EastingEXT‐EastingCURL=‐0.12).
4. Withtheelementsextended,measurethedistancefromtheMainAntennatothebucketteeth
onthehub(e.g.DistanceMainHub=30.0).
5. MeasurethedistancebetweentheMainandAuxantennas(e.g.DistanceMainAux=7.5).
6. Calculatethedistanceratio(e.g.RatioDist=DistanceMainHub/DistanceMainAux=4).
