Method B: Without Using a Survey Rover
Beforeyoubegin,ensurethatallequipmentandmeasurementsareusingthe
sameunitsofmeasure(i.e.Meters,SurveyFeet,etc.).
RecordMeasurements:
1. Positionthemachineonaflatsurface,andplaceahubinaflatopen
area.
2. Using3DMCasareference(inalocalizedproject),taptheElevation
ControlKey,theleftGPSinfo...button,andthentapthePositiontab.
3. Positionthemachinedirectlynorth.Bothbucketedgeswillhavethe
sameNorthingvalue(Figure72onpage52).
4. Retracttheelementsandthebucketsothatitiscurledinnear
machine,andplaceabucketcorneronthehub.
5. RecordtheEastingvalueofthebucketcorner(e.g.EastingN=520.35).
6. Raiseonlytheboom,movethemachineforwardbeyondthehub,and
rotatethemachinebody180°tofacedirectlysouth.
7. Placethebucketcornerchoseninstep4onthehubandrecordthe
Eastingvalue(EastingS=520.41).
CalculateAdjustments:
1. Calculatetheadjustmentneededin3DMCfortheMainAntennato
BoomCenterlinelengthusingthefollowingequation:
Adjustment=[(EastingS‐EastingN)/2](seeTable9).
2. Adjustthevaluein3DMCfortheMainAntennatoBoomCenterline
measurementbythecalculatedamount.Donotphysicallymovethe
antenna.
Apositiveadjustmentshouldbeaddedtothe3DMCvalues(the
distanceawayfromthecenterlineincreases).
Anegativeadjustmentshouldbesubtractedfromthe3DMCvalues(thedistanceawayfromthe
centerlinedecreases).
