12.4 Software Requirements
12.4.1 Operating Systems
ShoreWare Call Manager applications is supported on the following operating systems:
Windows XP Professional with SP 2
Microsoft Vista Business Edition
For ShoreTel 8 desktop applications to function correctly, you must install the Client for
Microsoft Networking.
Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0 is required for the Web Access call handling application
and for SoftPhone.
12.4.1.1 Citrix and Windows Terminal Server
Citrix and Windows Terminal Server (WTS) technologies enable processing for multiple
users to be aggregated on a single Windows computer. The single Windows computer is a
process and disk sharing server for multiple users that have lightweight or thin graphics
stations on their desktop. Citrix communicates between the server and clients using the
ICA protocol, whereas Windows Terminal Server uses the RDP protocol.
Operating Systems that support the client application include:
Windows 2003 Terminal Server with SP2
Windows 2003 Terminal Release 2
Presentation Server 4.0 (XenApp)
Presentation Server 4.1 (XenApp)
All Call Manager features are supported on Citrix except SoftPhone, video, Outlook
Integration, and Recording through a PC microphone.

12.4.2 Internet Browsers
ShoreWare Web Access call handling application requires one of the following browsers:

a. Lists Call Manager memory requirements during normal operation. When running other office applications on the PC in
addition to Call Manager, memory recommendations are 512 MB (XP) or 1 GB (Vista).
b. Disk space requirement is for installation on a system without .NET Framework installed previously. Once installed, Call
Manager requires less than 100MB of disk space.
