Identifying Presence
With ShoreTel Communicator, you can identify a contact’s presence to accept voice calls. Using
presence increases your productivity by reducing attempts to connect with unavailable parties.
ShoreTel Communicator automatically adjusts the presence status of users as they make and receive
calls. Icons, which can be viewed from the QuickDialer, identify the presence status of a contact.
Presence Icons
Icons identify the presence status of a contact, and your own presence. The following icons indicate
voice call presence:
- Available
- Busy
- On the Phone
- Do Not Disturb. Calls are automatically forwarded to the recipient's voice mail
- Unknown.

ShoreTel Communicator for Mac can be personalized as follows for the way you work:
Configuring phones.

Specifying voice mail options
Adding speed dial entries
Specifying telephony options.
Customizing how ShoreTel Communicator starts up and looks.
You customize Communicator for Mac using the Preferences window. Choose More > Preferences to
